Bruscandolo, in our region, is the name for wild hop. It cannot be used in brewing production due to the lack of lupulin, but it looks very similar to the hops that are used. Hence the name ‘Brusca’ refers to the abundant bitter hopping. But also as an identifier of its character: a strong personality that makes it unique.
“Fuckìn,” with the emphasis on the “i,” means “porter” (facchino) in the Venetian dialect. The porter was the drink of the dockworkers in Northern Europe who needed a tasty, easy-to-drink beer with low alcohol content to stay refreshed and keep working without issues. Chocolaty on the nose and coffee-like on the palate: a fantastic balance that makes it truly one of a kind.

With 70% wheat and a moderately high alcohol content, it became the most consumed type of beer in convents and abbeys during long fasting periods. Birrone’s Cibus, reproduced following the ancient recipe, is fragrant and flavorful while remaining fresh and easy to drink.
