Hop's craving – amaro fin Thiene

Hop's craving – amaro fin Thiene

The passion and the elegant herbal bitterness of Birrone

The passion for hops, particularly linked to "American" hopping techniques, gradually found its place here at Birrone over time. However, for us, hops have always been synonymous with Pils. Proof of this lies in the fact that since 2008, Brusca has been one of our flagship beers, characterized by abundant continental herbal hopping. The name of this beer category comes from a phrase often repeated by Simone, Birrone’s founder and brewmaster. Since his early homebrewing days, after visiting his friends—the soci dea bira—in Cavaso del Tomba and enjoying a good Pils, he would always say: “I could taste the bitterness (elegant herbal) all the way to Thiene.”

The story of Gerica: the pioneering Italian Cascadian Lager

This was a testament to the persistence and quality of the German hops used in our homebrewed beers.

Riding this wave, in 2012, Gerica was born—the first Italian Cascadian Lager, which brought us immense satisfaction, especially considering that at the time, no one in Italy had yet brewed an India Pale Lager.

From that moment on, our love for hops turned into a true passion, leading us to produce a wide variety of beer styles, both top and bottom fermented, experimenting with every type of hop available and all possible hopping techniques—all while staying true to the unmistakable Birrone style.
